How my journey began

I am Lou-Ann Yearwood and I became an MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) in the state of Connecticut because I have a deep passion for helping individuals, couples, and families navigate their challenges and improve their overall well-being. I believe in the power of therapy to create positive change in people's lives and provide them with the support and tools they need to overcome obstacles.

I have always been fascinated by the complexities of human relationships and the impact they have on our emotional and mental health. Becoming a therapist allowed me to specialize in understanding and addressing the unique dynamics that occur within families and couples. I wanted to be a source of guidance and healing for individuals and help them develop healthier ways of relating to others.

Additionally, witnessing the struggles that individuals and families face in their lives, such as communication difficulties, relationship conflicts, and mental health issues, motivated me to pursue a career in therapy. I wanted to be able to make a positive difference and offer a safe space where people could explore their feelings, gain insight into their challenges, and work towards growth and resilience.

Therapy is a collaborative journey, and being able to walk alongside clients as they discover their strengths, gain new perspectives, and make positive changes is incredibly rewarding. I am honored to be able to contribute to the well-being of others and assist them in creating more fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Ultimately, my decision to become a therapist was driven by a genuine desire to help others, a fascination with human relationships, and a belief in the transformative power of therapy. It is a privilege to be able to support individuals, couples, and families on their path to healing and personal growth.

“Mental Health is not a destination, but a process. It is about how you drive, not where you are going.”
